Special Feature: Auction Piece

When I do auction pieces sometimes I like to reach deep into the far corners of my creativity.

This edgy piece was made exclusively for the Redondo Beach Education Foundation Gala.

With all of the budget cuts being made in California

the education of our children sadly pays a price.

This is my way of contributing to the funds that hopefully can help keep various programs in place

Like music.

This piece sold for $180

It is Chinese Turquoise/carved Pi Xiu Jade skull prayer mala with tassel.

I am now in the process of creating new pieces for my inventory.

Liberation Of Change

lotusawakening

Change is a central feature of life. It can be exhilarating, frightening, exhausting, or relieving. It can spark sadness or happiness, resistance or grasping. Some spiritual traditions equate the world of impermanence with suffering. For these, the solution to suffering is to transcend the world of impermanence.

But suffering is not ingrained in the world of impermanence nor is it the result. Suffering comes about when we cling. When clinging disappears, impermanence no longer seems to bring about suffering.

It is possible to find ease and grace in the world of change. We see old age, sickness and death. We notice that things change. The seasons change, society changes, our emotions change, and the weather changes. Seeing that change is inevitable helps us to let go of clinging to how things are or our resistance to change.

It is possible to trust the mind of non-clinging and then find our liberation within the world of impermanence.

And sometimes recognizing that we are all equal and subject to aging, sickness, and death is the basis for compassion.

The Skies Meet The Earth

Fox, Carico Lake, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise w/Vintage Native American Thunderbird Fetish

Fox, Carico Lake, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise w/Vintage Native American Thunderbird Fetish

Pre-Columbian America is rich in Turquoise legend. It is one of the most important holy stones in their belief system for protection of the body and soul.

The Apache felt that Turquoise combined the powers of the sky and the sea.
Others believe it has the ability to connect the Earth and the Sky, symbols of the spirit and the body.

The Navajo believe that a piece of Turquoise is actually a piece of the sky (the heavens) that has fallen to Earth.

Turquoise is sacred to both Native American and oriental traditions. It is associated with the sky, and bringing sky energy to earth. It can help promote honest and clear communication from the heart. It is also said to protect against pollution in the environment, and to bring abundance. Turquoise can also help speed the healing process, and is known as a master healer stone. It is very powerful for grounding and protection also. Turquoise is associated with the throat chakra primarily.

Introducing, for Spring, The Turquoise Collection, also, Tahitian Pearls. New pieces will be added daily.

Universal Shift

Poster_Type_01

It is being brought to my attention through my higher consciousness that a major universal shift is about to happen. It is about dreams, big dreams, and that they do come true.

Monday, January 19 we observe Martin Luther King Day by taking a holiday from school and from work. We honor a great man who spent his life carrying a great message, that we can all live as one.

Martin Luther King, Jr.’s most famous words are, “I have a dream”. On the very next day after MLK Day, Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. Dr. King’s dream is coming true.

This is not a political message, but a spiritual one about universal love and collective consciousness. We can live as one, as long as we are not distracted from what is really happening around us. We will see it in our community, in our neighbors, tears that reveal the emotion that this universal shift is bringing upon us.

A lot of us won’t know exactly why we are shedding these tears. For me, it’s about a catharsis, a purging of the negativity that separates us as humans.

As I look into the eyes of my neighbor, I see beauty and the divinity within. I see love. We can live as one.

I’m posting a song that has always gotten to me, U2 performing with passion one of their homages to Dr. King, Pride (In the name of love). Pay attention at 3:30 min.:

Namaste, friends.

Om For The Holidays

332373862_7625bbb755

The very “spirit” of the holidays – giving and generosity – are high virtues. It’s harder to be grasping greedily when your arms are extended in giving. It is now time to celebrate ideals common to all walks of life, such a peace on Earth and good will toward every man, woman and child. We must celebrate love, family, generosity and compassion.

At the holiday season, what seems to most often bring people satisfaction is giving. Although generosity is important, you don’t need to break the bank — the best gift is the gift that leads to the happiness of inner peace.

New pieces are being added to the galleries daily. Check out “Latest Additions”.

Om For The Holidays

Print

Once again, the holiday season is upon us. It really seems to be the one time of year where people would go out of their way to say “hi” or to be nice to someone on the street. This kind of generosity of spirit is amazingly powerful. True happiness comes from compassion and generosity.

Celebrate love, family, generosity and compassion.

The best gift is the gift that leads to the happiness of inner peace. The lotus actually lives half of its life under the water. The roots of a lotus are in the mud, the stem grows up through the water, and the heavily scented flower lies above the water, basking in the sunlight. This pattern of growth signifies the progress of the soul from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment.

The lotus flower symbol means so much for so many cultures because this flower is so exceptional. In regards to Eastern thought, the lotus flower is the symbol for spirituality and the realization of life, of dark and light, yin and yang.

The science of gratitude

giving_thanks3

Thanksgiving is one day set aside for giving thanks, but researchers are finding that a daily dose of gratitude promotes health, happiness and social relationships.

Gratitude is a key element of human well-being. It’s getting increasing attention from psychologists, especially those within the growing movement known as positive psychology, which studies well-being. They are finding that grateful people are optimistic and energetic and deal better with stress and illness. Gratitude, in short, can make you happier.

Socially, gratitude builds connections. When parents teach their children to say thank you, they are not only teaching good manners, but also fundamental ways of getting along with other people.

While gratitude is a new subject for researchers, it’s a foundational part of all the world’s religions. Sacred scriptures teach gratitude, and religious prayers of thanksgiving reinforce an attitude of appreciation for what one is given.

Give Hope A Voice

The divine essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. Hope transcends age and culture to communicate love. Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. Hope can be given to one only by other human beings.

All the great spiritual leaders in history were people of hope. All lived with a promise in their hearts that guided them toward the future without the need to know exactly what it would look like. Let’s live with hope.

We were born with a power and grace inside of us that can create and choose the experiences we want. This power and grace in all of us has a voice. Many of us believe we must settle for whatever we get. Society has taught us that the magic of our intention is a fairy-tale, but intention is a powerful part of our transcendent intelligence.

Let’s voice Hope. Let your voice be heard.
